Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our fifth birthday and made our event a great success. We were overjoyed to be celebrating five years of progress toward providing preschool and educational resources to vulnerable neighborhoods. Thanks to you, our organization has been able to serve 1056 children to date, but that number is growing every year. We would like to give a special thank you to our keynote speaker Mayor Rosalynn Bliss. We would also like to thank ELNC Parent Ameka Brown, Jordan Carson of WOTV 4, and ELNC Board President Bill Bennett for your kind words and moving stories and Chef Fitzgerald of Kitchen Sage for donating their catering services to the event. Remember we couldn’t have done it without you, the community, and we look forward to five more years of ELNC with your support!
Now we look forward to the future.
As our Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative grows we will need to change and adapt with it. For this reason we have recently moved our administrative functions from the South East Academic Center (SEAC) building on Sigsbee to a new office space on Bridge St. This move will create space for more classrooms at our SEAC sight, as well as offering our administrative functions space to grow as well. This transition has been seamless, and we would like to thank you, the community, for your continued support.

Our CEO Dr. Ezeh issued a statement regarding this move:
“ELNC’s primary goal is to increase the number of quality early learning opportunities available for vulnerable children. In order to utilize classrooms at our GRPS SEAC building, that are now being used as ELNC offices, we will be relocating our Administration Team to the Bridge Street Chemical Bank building. We are fortunate that one of our Board Members, Liliana Garcia, a Chemical Bank Manager, was able to intercede for us to negotiate very reasonable lease terms.”
Effective April 11, 2016, our new ELNC Hub address is: 908 Bridge Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. The main telephone number is: 616 608-0754.
We look forward to future success with the help of our community.
For five years now the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative has been working hard to provide access to educational resources in underprivileged neighborhoods. Thanks to the hard work of our community partners since ELNC began we have served 1056 children across our six target neighborhoods. We are proud to say that we have been able to provide 17 classrooms, with 464 preschool slots where, before ELNC, there was nothing. We would also like to thank you, the community, for making all this a possibility.
All of us at ELNC are eager to celebrate our 5th birthday this year. Together, we have accomplished far more than was originally thought possible. We are preparing for an event that will celebrate what we have done as well as what is in store for the next five years. The event will take place on May 3rd, 11:15 at the New Hope Baptist Church: 130 Delaware St SW. We would love to have you be a part of the celebration. To RSVP please email firstname.lastname@example.org and visit our Facebook page for more information.
